I’ve been experimenting with red in my outfits after it was basically cursed with black. Red for me is a tricky color. Here are some casual looks with red that I think are pretty nicely coordinated.
Dark navy pants act as a great neutral here and soften the bright bold red gently.
That is to say, black would look fantastic too but would amp up the contrast.
You see the contrast with black?
Smart touch layering a white shirt underneath and letting it stick out just enough.
Still not seeing the contrast? Here’s some more.
It’s actually easy to style a red sweater, no?
The key is always clever accents and the right accessories.
I’m very gently asking if you get the idea with the white t-shirt thing as an accent yet.
The black shopper bag looks like total banger by the way.
Are you wondering if dark jeans would work in this case. Very good question.
The answer is judge it yourself.
Bright jeans…
And leather pants are a staple classic…
I once hated leather pants, can you even believe that???
You can also style it with white wide-leg pants. She’s in a more comfy look, but you get the idea.
Pick lighter fabrics like silk, satin, linen-blend (with thermo pants underneath of course) and your entire outfit will warm up everyone’s winter.
You also don’t need to go wide-leg.
Flared trousers or jeans are a chic, elegant option.
Throw on your favorite plaid scarf and you’re ready to head to your nearest library (but I don’t see why it has to be near).
If you’re tired of pants, a midi A-line skirt in thicker wool or wool-blend fabric would be a nice switch-up.
Black boots, matching bag—the basics, you know.
Pro tip: Your boots should ALWAYS be higher than the length of your midi skirt so your proportion isn’t divided up!
Now if you’re asking, well and good, but what about a coat? Snow storm is raging outside. Yada yada winter drama.
Well a black coat is classic for a reason. (I hope you have one)
If not, then a camel long coat…
But more on coats later.
